HIFU facelift in Singapore is one of the hottest aesthetic treatments today. And, of course, I don’t want to be left behind by this trend! So here is my experience with HIFU treatment!

What is HIFU treatment?

High-intensity focused ultrasound (HIFU) is a treatment that was widely used for treating masses and tumours. You might wonder how it became an aesthetic treatment.

HIFU also has a tightening effect on the skin. Hence, it was used to reduce wrinkles and fine lines, an alternative to other aesthetic treatments. The best part? It is painless and non-invasive!

How does HIFU facelift work in Singapore?

The HIFU treatment in Singapore uses ultrasound energy to heat the skin until it results in cellular damage. But isn’t it bad to damage the cells? When cellular damage happens, the body produces collagen to counter the effect.

We all know that collagen helps provide elasticity to the skin. Therefore, the skin becomes tighter and firmer, giving a younger-looking skin. There will be no damage to the skin’s surface.

How to prepare for HIFU treatment?

HIFU treatment requires less preparation than other aesthetic treatments. The only precaution my aesthetics medical clinic told me was they cannot treat skin surfaces with open lesions. People with active cystic acne and metallic implants may also avoid this treatment in the meantime.

My esthetician first cleaned my face. Then they use anaesthetic cream and ultrasound gel.

Once done, my esthetician placed the HIFU device against the skin. The device bursts a short pulse that leaves a light prickly sensation. There is little to no discomfort to feel.

Are there any side effects?

Because HIFU treatment in Singapore is non-invasive it has no serious side effects or complications.

After my treatment, there was swelling and numbness in the treated area. My skin was a little bit red and had slight bruising. My side effects only lasted for a day.

To be safe, I highly recommend getting your treatment from a reputable aesthetics medical clinic so you can guarantee that only a professional medical practitioner will touch your skin.

How did you manage the side effects?

A cold compress can help reduce swelling and redness. But if you are feeling pain or discomfort, you can take painkillers. If the pain persists after a few days, I recommend visiting your doctor.

Is HIFU treatment safe?

Based on my experience, I can say it is safe. I have not experienced severe side effects or complications after the treatment.

Also, HIFU has already been widely used in the medical industry even before it became a tool for aesthetic treatments. But, people, be warned!

I’ve seen tons of allegedly ‘HIFU’ devices in the market for home use. I don’t recommend these devices. It is safer to get your HIFU in Singapore from professionals. Besides the fact that you don’t know if these home-use HIFU devices are above the standard, you cannot guarantee their effectiveness as well.

Likelihood to recommend

I highly recommend HIFU treatment in Singapore, especially for people in their early 30s. This treatment drastically improves your skin’s elasticity, leaving your skin smooth and wrinkle-free!
